Bruno is hands down one of Ahito's favorite adults in the whole game. While he definitely didn't think much of him at the start, after Bruno went about making tea for everyone in the aftermath of Hey Mika How Does This Keep Happening, he really started to see how much Bruno cares for others despite his low opinion of himself, and it reminded him a lot of Hibiki from back home. After that, he took a lot more interest in checking in on Bruno's activities and offering encouragement where he could.
He strongly values those who still have softness and kindness to give to the world, and Bruno had both in spades - it was inevitable Ahito'd want to see him flourish even if Bruno was the actual adult in the situation. And, in spite of his own... questionable life choices, he doesn't actually like seeing others giving up on their own happiness for the sake of others. He's, uh, not super thrilled that Bruno's so dead set on returning to his family outside of like, Mirabel maybe, but he'll be relieved when he hears it all works out.
(Even if he's still going to think that they should all apologize to Bruno, actually. Like, ten times each.)
It annoys Ahito to be thought of as weak or not as capable as his fellows, but after Bruno acknowledged he had figured out a legit system to fight off mana beasts, it became a lot easier to bear with Bruno's worrying haha. After that point it was easier for Ahito to understand that Bruno's concern was just Bruno being Bruno as opposed to everyone else who he clearly still had to prove himself to. Clearly.
In general it was just... nice? Having an adult looking out for him???? Not to say that his grandmother doesn't, but seeing as she's like the only other adult who's been interested in his well being it was a nice (if strange) change of pace for him, and he really appreciated the ways Bruno found his own ways to help out - Ahito was thinking in terms of protecting himself from the curse, but if it weren't for Bruno thinking to give him the matches, he would have fared much worse in the Northern mission.
I've mentioned it before, but Bruno's been a dose of just like. "Oh. Is this what it's supposed to be like to have a good parent??" He'll never put words to it because it isn't even a complete thought in his head, but still!! More proof Bruno gives off only good vibes, 10/10 would shank a guy for him (secretly, he never has to know).
