You can consider this a combination OOC intro and plotting post for the first event, with the characters being eased into the world and their new roles as the Sage's wizards. Curious as to what's to come? Oh, just some basics. Enjoy it!

Character and info: Yamato is an idol from IDOLiSH7, and his world is completely normal and set in the year 2016 (ish). He's a chill, laid back older brother figure...usually. His canon point is very interesting and that is probably the reason why he's been placed in the Eastern Country!

Other notes: He's a great performer and a very reputable actor.

Plotting: Yamato will not be super excited about any of this, but he's got no choice but to kind of comply here, so! He'll be occupying himself with Wanderer's tasks and probably gonna try to delve into the whole magic thing with minimal help from others to start with. This won't be successful for obvious reasons so I definitely welcome experienced combatants to teach him some things 🥹

I'd love to get him into some of Tatara's stuff too!! He'll check them out bc he's curious without any plans to participate, but I'll find a way to make him socialize 😤

Character and info:

This is Malice, an original character! He's one of those disaster North wizards, hanging out in floor 1, room 6! You can find a more detailed first impressions/opt-out post over here, and here are his permissions!

As for who Malice is? He's a tremendous edgelord vampire (as if his name didn't give it away) with some serious baggage regarding other vampires. He likes humans a lot, though! He's generally full of energy, can't sit still, and extremely talkative, with a Southern US accent! He can and will say "y'all'd've", you've been warned. Though he's generally sort of a disaster, he is eager to learn all about magic, given that vampires in his world can't learn magic at all! Anyway, Malice is also notably missing his right arm and left eye - he keeps the latter covered by an eyepatch beneath his bangs, and he has replacement arms for the former, though they won't be working right now. He also has some serious issues from regenerating wrong - please be warned that arm horror may come up if you ask about his arm! His opt-out post covers this if you'd like to avoid it.

Plotting:

Malice is definitely going to need a lot of practice to actually accomplish anything with magic, so please help him. Let him watch and/or explain what you're doing once you've figured it out and he'll pick up on it faster than just being left to his own devices!

Alternatively, if you want to do some quests, you're welcome to rope Malice into helping out! He'll complain about it, but he does think it'll be useful... just don't expect him to know the first thing about making sugar. He's a vampire?? He doesn't eat human food?? Tatara's activities are definitely fun and more up his alley than doing research, but maybe he'll be one of those overconfident idiots who gets his ass beat by Wanderer.

Since he is a vampire, he's going to need to feed eventually. He won't force anyone to comply and will be able to learn how to control his hunger through magic if need be, but if anyone wants to get bitten, you know where to find me lmao.

kurapika is from hunter x hunter, where all you need to know is that everything happens so much. he is also representing central country! generally, he's a pretty serious guy that has a penchant for saying exactly what he's thinking and refusing to mince his words. that said, he's reliable and a good person to confide in. he works really well with friendly types, but can easily commiserate with fellow sticks in the mud.

Timezone & Tagging Times: EST! I'll be dedicating an hour to the game each night at around 7pm on the regular but I should be tagging around that. I just set up a lil schedule for myself.

Character and info:

Leo Tsukinaga is a composer/idol from Ensemble Stars!! I play him from the 2nd game at age 19 tho his birthday is in May, why is he allowed to no longer be a teenager. Leo is a well-known songwriter who does work both overseas and in Japan and is a member of the idol unit Knights, of which he is the former "King". He's eccentric and energetic and tends to focus entirely on his "masterpieces", leading to him being easily distracted from other concerns and activities. While chaotic and impetuous, Leo cares deeply about those around him. His favorite food is coffee. Anyway all five of his items are markers and he will be writing on things, sorry about that. Literally may be a tripping hazard writing on the ground or walls if he doesn't have paper handy.

He's representing the West where apparently eccentrics go so that works!

Plotting:

I'm so serious about him being a tripping hazard and vandalizing shit with music, this is unfortunately a Recurring Issue with him so if he's not watched he will graffitti floors and walls with his markers to write ~music~. He may also do this if watched. He will NOT be remembering anyone's names straight off and even when he remembers them he'll probably shorten them or pronounce them a bit off because He's Just Like That. But event plotting...

• He's gonna spend a lot of time on his incantation! Probably will try a bunch of different things before he picks one and he WILL be singing his incantation. He's going to be a bit >[ that it can't just be a musical riff (probably). I'd love to plan out having someone to figure out the words or manifest his focus or do the broom summoning together? Leo's going to be...u know. Himself. So questionably helpful at best but he may compose a song in your honor or something, probably when he should actually be working.

• Probably will throw a dramatic sprawling on the ground fit about being expected to write a paper??? He'll get over it pretty fast but he definitely will use half the paper for music so...hm.

• The active activity of going to get a trinket is way more his speed than doing writing homework so partners for that would help!!

• He's gonna hang out at the arts and crafts table and probably use the stuff to decorate more than name tags...it's fine. He will probably keep some of the markers. It's fine!

• HIDE AND SEEK...is also his speed because it's dumb, so he's willing to play?

• He'll also go exploring and get lost, so if anyone wants to rescue him from the market he cannot be left unattended without wandering off...

Timezone & Tagging Times: CDT/GMT-6, no set tagging schedule so who knows when you'll get jumpscared. As a note, when missions and the like are happening that will take priority over any interactions with Wanderer.

Character and info: The Wanderer is just a little guy!! He's just a vagabond with no home who has been tasked to mentor all of the new Sage's wizards in How To Magic Good. He's not super keen to make Friends with anyone and can be kind of a bitch, but he might have some gap moe deep in there. Maybe. Who can say! He is from after mellowing out a bit in canon, but he is still a rude little shit with Problems at his core.

Also, he was given a name by Tatara, so characters are free to use that if they figure it out. He doesn't really care what people use for him, so long as people do what he says and aren't total idiots.
Plotting: He will be spending most of the first week just overseeing training, but people are welcome to bother him if they want?! Or if anyone has questions they want answered ICly if they want to ask the mean team mom.

Character and info: Ahito is from a world where all magic requires a sacrifice; in his case, whenever he casts, he must sacrifice some of his own health. Gaining magic at all was due to being the guinnea pig of his parents' magical experiments, meaning he's familiar with magical systems and also really, really hates magic and magic users and would prefer to simply solve problems with tech and possibly guns. This place is going to be super fun for him!

He's a mischief-maker who rebels against authority and the magical status quo, but at his heart he's a good guy who's friendly with others and willing to play the part of a silly teen to entertain some kids. He's down to sneak around and try to hunt down plot threads, and spends a non-zero amount of time hiding out in trees to eavesdrop or, just for funsies, hop into someone's room directly through their window because doors are for losers. WE'RE TRYING TO HAVE FUN HERE, CIRCUMSTANCES BE DAMNED. His eyes are notably a really unnatural, bright cyan color because they are the basis of his magic; in his own world, anyone he gazes at is automatically healed. That said, he's also going to have his sage's crest on his right eye as well, so, you know. That's gonna be fun. Good thing he's already mostly blind in that one!!

Also, he's a northern country representative. This is how you know he'll be incredibly normal. You can find him on floor 1 room 4 if he's not running around occupied elsewhere.

Plotting:
-He's going to take a while to warm up to activities because magic has fucked up his body so bad in his own world, please help encourage him
-He's going to either need to figure out where to buy painkillers or how to cast a spell on himself to take the edge off of his chronic pain, please help him
-I'm down to toss him into activities with others!! He might need a little coaxing but if someone else is there he'll probably go along with it so he can learn about the enemy

Character and info: Say hello to Urianger Augurelt from the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV that has a free trial which includes the entirety of A Realm Reborn AND the award-winning Heavensward expan--

Jokes aside, Urianger is an Incredibly Smart Elezen (FFXIV elf) who specializes in prophecy and other Smart People Things. He's a member of the main party, AKA the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and he often plays an important supportive role during the story. He's also a huge dramatic poetry nerd who speaks in Ye Olde English so prithee forgive me if I'm slow to tag while I reference my notes on how to write it.

Fittingly, he'll be representing the Western Country. I haven't picked a room for him yet so please hold on that for now...unless you want him near your character for whatever reason.

Plotting: Urianger will be going hard on learning the magic here and researching the Lore of this world to the best of his ability! He has a background in magicks back home, so hopefully this will come somewhat naturally to him. He'll be happy to help others practice, especially those who are having a hard time and seem eager to learn. That isn't to say that I don't want people to bully him because I absolutely want that too. I mean, the way he talks...it's so much. Let him confound y'all.

This is all just to say COME AT ME I WANT ALL THE CR. Except I might keep a small tag load at first, just while I'm getting used to writing Urianger's voice.

*he has about as much of a chance of winning this magic war as me winning a genshin 50/50. :') he's kind of stuck in a half-sealed, half-unsealed demon state at the moment, so his success rate is probably lower than usual. he is the weapon banner.

Ithaqua from Identity V is representing the North Country-- fitting since he comes from the Far North in canon, and the forest he grew up in had perpetual snowfall (and he was born in the winter... oh look, a theme!). He grew up away from civilization but is very well-spoken and usually amiable towards other people... unless they're human, because BOY does he hate humans. Man they suck! They suck so much that he giggles when he's hunting them! To be fair they did torture his mother just because she was a supposed witch. Supposed.

But he likes cute animals. Ply him with animals and he chills out considerably. He also may or may not be human anymore-- we still don't know that, but I hc that he turned into something else entirely, like a Great Old One from Cthulhu mythos, at some point in his life and only resembles a human on the surface.

Plotting: I'm most interested in the job board, heheheh. Ithaqua has never had processed sugar, he has only had fruits and honey as his sugar intake, so he might sneak in a few (or a lot) tastes while making said sugar.

I also have his focus in mind, the lantern on his axe (since it does work like one in canon, at least visually speaking), but getting him to understand that... may be an undertaking. He also won't be happy that he needs an incantation for his windy powers now, since he never needed them before. Looking for training buddies for this one!

Also, if you spot a dark blob jumping out a window from the 5th floor, that might be him.

Character and info: Though he appears in his twenties, Solomon is a strangly shady man who smiles way too much and has been practicing sorcery and demon pacts for a very very very very very very long time. He's so old. Stop praying for grandpa. Anyway, he can be a little hard to read, but he's generally a kind soul with a love for magic, light ribbing, playing dumb, never explaining himself, being Sus to the local supernatural beings and Freak Cooking accidents.

He will be representing the North! I'm so sorry.

OH RIGHT I FORGOT he's on Floor 3, good luck Floor 3.

Plotting:
Conceal don't feel aka wow what a horrible time to get transported. Thankfully, magic is Solomon's bread and butter, so he's going to have his nose in a book and his ass on a broom relatively quick. If he's noticing some of the Kids are struggling, he might help out, or he might tease them, or both. Probably both. He will also love to have someone to navigate the new cuisine of the world and have lots of stories to tell about the weird food they serve to demons, like dragonfruit with mouths on them and ice cream that sets itself on fire.

He's going to cause kitchen disasters. There is no way to stop it. He will always find a kitchen. Everyone lives in fear.

That said, feel free to try his cooking! Get ready to roll a constitution check every time unless you have no taste buds because he is cluelessly horrible in the kitchen.

Character and info: Syrlya is his world's general savior, champion, fix-it guy--you name it, it's probably his problem. Warm-hearted, compassionate, and as noble as his people come, Syrlya has boxed himself into the heroic mantle and come out of it fussy, a bit neurotic, and with a massive guilt complex. Very much a hypocrite who just disregards personal safety and limits. He's just recently reached the end of averting the apocalypse (after... nearly accelerating the apocalypse) and, having spent literally his whole life doing that, has been left listless without any place or direction for his future. So he's going to... throw himself right into trying to save this world now that he's here, because that's what he's familiar with!!

Also he's a literal talking plant. Also he is central country and on floor 3, room 2.

Plotting: Well we're gonna be Settling In. Magic is extremely familiar to him and he'll be willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs some assistance wrapping their heads around casting spells. Might make his sword his focus since he technically uses it for magic casting anyway in addition to the stabbing.

Character and info: Bruno is a twitchy lil' guy who's spent the last ten years of his life secretly living in the walls of a magical house. His only friends are rats. It's all very dire. Usually friendly once he stops being fucking terrified of everything. He's representing the Southern Country.

Additional notes: can actually see into future, it's a whole thing, probably won't bring it up right away, though, since it kind of sucks. :')

Extra additional notes: one of his rat friends arrived with him, I still need to decide on a name.

Plotting: Gonna be real here, Bruno is either going to assume he's died during the house collapsing and this is some weird form of heaven or limbo or that he's in a coma and this is a whole dream, just like in his favorite media type, the telenovela. Preferably the latter. The latter means he's alive! Somehow!

Anyway, he'll be very panicky and hole himself up in his room as much as possible the first few days. Once someone proves that they really can do magic (well, extra magic, he's already magical), he may start putting in some effort.

He'll at the very least do the basics and attempt one of the first two of Wanderer's tasks. Maybe he'll show up to make a sparkly name tag?

Character and info: Here lies Mr Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3...critically depressed teen with enough trauma and guilt to keep a city going for a month. He also is (or was) terminally ill, but he's not dying anymore! unfortunately his health still sucks ass. he also is fresh from the grave, walking in fresh from getting shot in an alley. he's uh. not really sure how to take this.

he's representing Eastern Country, living up to it's brand of depressed introverts. he also is a fantastic chef, so he'll likely be doing most of the cooking (and ejecting solomon from the kitchen). you can find him at floor 1, room 5

Plotting:
🪓 He's going to be really out of it for a while since he's trying to process both this and being...deceased. definitely walked out of that elevator with some patches of half-dried blood. he's also the LEAST magically inclined persona party member so this is really not his wheelhouse. Not the type to really ASK for help, but damn...he probably needs it.
🪓 he hasn't attended school in two years he is not writing no damn paper. so, he'll probably be trying (emphasis on the trying) to get one of those trinkets. just smacking things with an axe will be frowned upon since this is magicland, so unfortunately sparring won't likely be in his favor.
🪓 he'll be checking out the kitchen once he settles, for sure. going over all the weird fucked up wizardworld ingredients and struggling with a woodstove and lack of appliances. he might also end up going to the market to see their selection and maybe get some essentials...like cookbooks...if anybody wants to join the buddy system. he won't be super thrilled, but he can suffer.

Character and Info: Cid is a representative of West because he's absolutely obsessed with magic and battle and a gigantic chuuni who will do just about anything to look cool. But he's also a chuuni obsessed with secretive shadowy masterminds, so he tries to hide literally all of this and present himself as a Normal Magical School Student most of the time.

It's literally fighting everything-not-just-evil by moonlight and winning-not-love-but-possibly-the-lottery by daylight.

Plotting: In that vein, nighttime Cid may net you different CR from daytime Cid -- he'll very likely be trying out new, shadowy, secretive identities at night and all of them will likely be cringe. If you can stand that. If not, smol bean student Cid is very easy to bully and very easy to drag into shenanigans; you can sign him up for pyramid schemes, feed him your problematic cooking, conscript him into manual labor or force him to join your band, beat him up for sport, force him to carry out ill-advised dares... It's easy to get CR with him and I'm open to Pretty Much Anything so come at me.

Tasks-wise, he'd definitely be more interested in Wanderer's tasks, but feign interest in both types of tasks in order to keep up his Important Double-Life Aesthetic. He's committed to all the bits. ☆

I also forgot to say that if you want a serious sparring buddy you probably want nighttime Cid. Daytime Cid will mostly likely throw the match, but he'll throw it Beautifully.

Character and info: this is tatara totsuka, from K! formerly part of a street gang, formerly a clansman under the red king, and now thrust into the role of sage whether he likes it or not. but it really isn't different from what he used to do in homra...so he'll get the hang of it eventually, i think. otherwise, he's a very silly guy and very sweet, very cheerful, into all sorts of things. this new world is so full of wonder and things to explore...

Plotting: claps my hands!!! as the sage he's really mostly here to support all of you, you're always free to hit him up if your chara needs a neutral third party for...anything, i guess! but in terms of plot, he'll be checking up on people as the weeks go by, so be prepared for a tatara jumpscare. i also have some Things in mind for him but i suppose we shall touch on it later hehe

Character and info: Joyous Day is some guy from a swords and sandals, wuxia-esque tabletop setting that's a trash fire-in-progress. He's a musician and actor for a travelling performance troupe. He also an agent of Heaven's Bureau of Destiny, currently undercover on an assignment. He's a laidback and friendly older brother type and that isn't a lie, he's just also really stressed out underneath and can seem strangely distant at times. Desperately wishes he got more chances to actually be laidback these days. He's representing Southern Country and staying on Floor 2, Room 3.

I also like, picked him from canon point where he's fresh from a night full of political intrigue, beating people up, a castmate kind of imploding with a death aura and things generally just going off the rails, so. Being a wizard is almost relaxing in comparison. Give him a moment to be untired and don't worry about the blood stains.

Plotting:
- If your character is struggling with coming up with an incantation or focus, Day might be able to help since wizard magic coming from feelings isn't really that different from how some of his canon powers work. He'll help try to brainstorm, at the very least.
- He refuses to write a paper whether or not he researches the local spirits, so he'll be more interested in looking for trinkets for Wanderer's task.
- He's willing to do all of Tatara's activities, but will be most interested in going shopping and hide-and-seek.
- Once he settles in, he'll start practising playing the erhu in his free time, either in his room or the courtyard. He's also a good sparring partner for anyone interested because he's basically a kungfu wizard.

I'll be bringing to you Robin, from Fire Emblem Awakening! You might have heard of him, he's that amnesiac who pops up sometimes in obscure crossover games like Smash Brothers and stuff. Anyway, this is ... not that Robin!

That is to say, he is not the playable Robin, but instead an alternate future Robin who also sometimes calls himself Grima, who knows what that is probably some sort of chuuni edgelord alter ego name for himself like batman or something, who decided to go back in time to make sure his future happens and stuff. Okay but for real this is the Hierophant, aka the Robin who's also Grima, don't worry about it. Robin is just a snarky sarcastic shit of a war tactician and vessel of a god hailing from a medieval fantasyesque world with dragons and magic and gods-who-are-actually-just-bigger-dragons who somewhere along the way developed both a flair for the dramatic at some time during the apocalypse (which he may have helped cause), and a strong streak of misanthropy and cynicism regarding the entirety of the human race. It's fine.

He's repping Northern Country and ... honestly he's probably as North as North gets, from what I've heard of the canon characters in North (LOOKS DIRECTLY AT OWEN AND THE TWINS). I hear they're all disasters up there. That sounds about right, honestly. I'm going to say he has a very interesting relationship with being revered, though, because Fire Emblem is secretly a series about why not to deify and put people on pedestals, no one involved ever handles it well.

Very funny for someone originally from the desert to end up in the middle of it fuckin cold/wimdy tho, big fan of that.

Plotting:

'Who in their right mind would summon the dragon of the end to help save the world' - robin's thoughts right now, probably. he is the breath of ruin, the wings of despair, the fell dragon, and his entire life for the past ~15 years or whatever has been bringing about the end of humanity out of grief doing ancient god of death and destruction things. he is not someone you summon to help preserve things, what. not his world not his mess? he was in the middle of something, rude.

That said he's not contrarian enough to start immediately trying to break shit either; he's perfectly capable of chilling for a while as he learns more about what the heck is going on, does research, goes exploring, and or similar investigative things. Once a nerd always a nerd. So while he's not keen on making friends or doing... any of Tatara's tasks really... of his own volition he won't fight it too much if someone else wants to try to inflict them on him; he might be somewhat prickly but he doesn't bite much. Probably.

Also what do you mean, he has to relearn everything. Hello? HELLO??? But he is going to be working on the foci/broom/incantation thing straight off in a very practical manner, and if you handle him with the appropriate amount of respect he may decide to help out. Maybe, if it suits his whim.

Also he is the Fell Dragon Grima, and he definitely does not have a sweet tooth. Forget whatever you've heard. It's nothing but slander. Or better yet, perhaps point out who you heard it from? Clearly they need to be taught to mind their tongues-

to sum it up shortly, khun is from one of the 10 great families in his canon, so think of it as nobility but it's more like gang families tbh. he's extremely confident and smart, though he does soften it some because he's easy to talk to. he is also very calculating, which will become obvious the more you know him. dont worry, hes usually up front about that once he's pulled a fast one over on you.

basically he was raised only to Win and utilize whatever he can (and whoever) so its fine! dont worry about it!


Plotting: in general stuff he's gonna spend a lot of his initial time reading up on the books here (hello bookclub...), given he doesnt know this system at all. where are the electronics weeps.
