So, you've survived your first two weeks as a Sage's wizard! Mostly intact, even. Congratulations! Celebrations are in order. Quite literally, actually, as this week sees an extravagant ball hosted in your honor! Enjoy it.

Except, of course, a ball is not just a ball. Now is the time to really learn as much about the world you're tasked with protecting, and it's time to ingratiate yourself to the locals and get to networking. There's a lot to this world beyond just slinging spells and appeasing the spirits.

You've also got more jobs to take, and tasks from your Sage and your mentor, and still so much magic left to discover...and maybe another surprise is waiting in the wings? Or maybe even...multiple surprises?! Either way, here's your post to plot things for the upcoming weeks!

Character and info: Ithaqua, Northern Country. A silly forest creature who doesn't like humans, is very well read and spoken, and giggles a bit over macabre things. Okay, a lot. He likes murder, there's nothing wrong with that. Tends to be amiable, but keeps people at arm's length anyway. He'll give you a conversation, but he won't consider anyone friends... (that's gonna change, I'll make it so.)
Plotting:

• Ithaqua's coming in a fancy, pretentious af outfit because I can't not. He'll hate having to dress up but then decide fuck it, if he has to go to a ball, he's going to go all out. If clothes shopping interests you, then I'm down for threading that out. It'd also... have a chance of your character unlocking some Ithaqua lore or scoring some points with him.
  
  
• Ithaqua is a lightweight, but can't distinguish alcohol from non-alcoholic drinks. Do you see where I'm going with this. Drinking aside, let's have our characters eat their way through the banquet table and discuss food from other cultures... Ithaqua has only ever eaten simple homemade stuff.

• Tatara activities: OKAY CONSIDER ITHAQUA INTERESTED he's gonna start a big garden now, thanks for giving him a very good reason to take over part of the garden. Ithaqua will begreudgingly accept help from others, but he might get a little bossy if someone doesn't know how to plant and stuff. Sorry, he used to do it at home, and he wants to make sure the garden is perfect. (yes, he might even boss Tatara around)
  
  
• Job board: I'm most interested in working on Shadows in the night and Escorting nobility! As a fighter, Ithaqua tends to have a very basic plan of attack in mind and yolos the rest, adjusting depending on the situation. However! He is not used to working with others so there might be some friction... And maybe a hint of him being overprotective depending on who he's working with.

Plotting:

• Solomon knows his way around a foreign royal court, more or less, so he'll come to pick at the wallflowers and try to encourage some confidence in their image.
  
• If you need someone to teach you how to dance, grandpa is here for u.
  
• He's going to be pretty subdued during this whole event. Polite, social, etc, and he will dance around his own mood as normal, but the very observant can take a moment with him out on the balcony if they'd like. He has some Thoughts in his old man brain.
  
  
• Solomon can help with any of the jobs, though as far his natural inclination: East > South > Central is his current order of preference.

Plotting: • Unfortunately, he has to keep up appearances, so he will be at the fancy dance being a fancy little lad. He won't be happy about it, but he'll be there, so if anyone wants to dance with him (???) or deal with him being grouchy, he's there.

•He is also free to do jobs with! He'll be checking out the South to check on things after the mission, but he'll also help make sure someone is leaving an okay impression with the Eastern nobles. Someone has to be competent, and who doesn't enjoy fighting monsters??

•He will also be approaching people to talk more about the experiences with magic, be that here or in their home worlds, ostensibly to prevent more bloodbaths and destroyed pans, but also just to sate his curiosity. If anyone wants him approaching their character to ask them pointed questions, let me know!!

so what's he been up to? he's still bad at magic; his progress has been kinda slow. that's what happens when you don't believe. he has been helping mika with feeding. and!! ginger has been taking care of fresh flowers in his room. yams taught him a little. he's been so excited about it, he's probably stopped by people's rooms to give them a flower - just randomly.

This is just a heads up that I'll be putting up a mod-approved event post this Wednesday, April 24th! TL;DR: Wanderer's been tinkering with Musashi to try and figure out how to power it up again, and Yamato may have gotten a funny little bouquet of flowers that'll manifest his dreams after he sniffs it....

Combine the two, and you've got a magically powered Musashi that will Cause Problems throughout the Manor.

Much like the bath log, this is not a real time event and can be tagged at your own pace!

Malice is your other vampire who is not undead (his world's vampires work differently) and his kind aren't supposed to be capable of using magic. So he has a pretty steep learning curve, but he's mostly got the basics figured out! Now comes the fun part of experimenting... Anyway, he's one of our wild North wizards, and he recently just got done dealing with dumb noble shenanigans so he's going to take one look at this and groan very, very loudly. Please help make this ball more enjoyable and/or memorable for him, he will die of boredom otherwise.

Plotting:

★ As mentioned above, Malice is so tired of noble shenanigans. He will certainly go to the ball and do his best to mingle but also: why does it have to be a ball. Why can't he just chill on the balcony the whole night. Damn. With that said, someone please dance with him because I love it and he'll complain because he still doesn't know how to dance. Malice was very bad at pretending to be a noble, okay.

★ Jobs! Central and East are the ones that will interest him the most, although he'll be a little hesitant to accept the East mission because nobles. Still, this gives him the perfect opportunity to practice flinging fireballs around, so he'd greatly enjoy either! Malice likes fighting quite a bit and will be working on using his clawed arm for this as well (though obviously that won't help much vs the shadows in the Central mission).

★ I probably won't have a top level for either Wanderer's or Tatara's tasks, but I'm always down for Malice to be pulled into shenanigans! If your character needs an extra set of hands (one of which will still be unreliable for the next week or so) then Malice can (probably) help (maybe)!

★ This week, Malice is working on getting his prosthetic arm back in working order. This is going to go... interestingly. Sometimes his arm will just stop working, or other silly shenanigans. If you want to do some dumb stuff with this, let me know! Alternatively, if you don't want to deal with it, Malice can just leave his arm behind because he's frustrated, lmao.

★ Depending on how some of these room threads go, Malice may need someone to snack on. He's been open about being a vampire, so if your character is willing to let him take a bite, let me know!! Those of you attacked by Mika are not allowed for at least a week, he doesn't know how long humans take to heal from this sort of thing??

Leo Tsukinaga is a composer/idol from Ensemble Stars!! I play him from the 2nd game at age 19 tho his birthday is in May, why is he allowed to no longer be a teenager. Leo is a well-known songwriter who does work both overseas and in Japan and is a member of the idol unit Knights, of which he is the former "King". He's eccentric and energetic and tends to focus entirely on his "masterpieces", leading to him being easily distracted from other concerns and activities. While chaotic and impetuous, Leo cares deeply about those around him. His favorite food is coffee. Anyway all five of his items are markers and he will be writing on things, sorry about that. Literally may be a tripping hazard writing on the ground or walls if he doesn't have paper handy.

He's representing the West where apparently eccentrics go so that works!

Character and info: Cid is a representative of West because he's absolutely obsessed with magic and battle and a gigantic chuuni who will do just about anything to look cool. But he's also a chuuni obsessed with secretive shadowy masterminds, so he tries to hide literally all of this and present himself as a Normal Magical School Student most of the time.

His alter-ego Shadow tends to come out at night and is probably the one you want for like, most useful pursuits. Cid is just here for being bullied (I say like he isn't somehow doing half the bullying, what is he doing).

It's literally fighting everything-not-just-evil by moonlight and winning-not-love-but-possibly-the-lottery by daylight.

Plotting:

🎭 Rocking this outfit without the mask, ponytail included; he seems pretty at ease in it, but then it's basically just an upgraded version of the school uniform he keeps wearing around.

🎭 Ball-wise he's not bad at schmoozing or flattering higher-rank people/nobles/whatever?? He's also a functional dancer and won't step on your feet as long as you let him lead. If you want him to follow all bets are off. It's also possible to catch him snagging some Japanese food, because he's totally not Japanese, or sneaking out to the balcony or even the gardens for a nap. Oops.

🎭 So I hear we are starting to sense each other's magic, which means people are totally free to call him out when he's Shadow nowadays. If you've met Cid or Shadow before and want silly identity shenanigans we can totally do that on like, a task/job/whatever.

🎭 Speaking of tasks/jobs, he'd be raring to go as Shadow for shadows (duh) and escort, but would probably be Cid for any farming type things. Otherwise he's not that much of a cook so he's more likely to mooch food off anyone doing Wanderer's thing. The milk task sounds hilarious they should try to milk monsters. /insert joke about Star Wars blue milk here

Character and info: Joyous Day is some guy from a swords and sandals, wuxia-esque tabletop setting that's a trash fire-in-progress. He's a musician and actor for a travelling performance troupe. He is also an agent of Heaven's Bureau of Destiny, currently undercover on an assignment. He's a laidback and friendly older brother type and that isn't a lie, he's just also really stressed out underneath and can seem strangely distant at times. Desperately wishes he got more chances to actually be laidback these days. He's representing Southern Country and staying on Floor 2, Room 3.

☆ I'll be setting up a town meeting thread so Souths can share stories and things they learnt from their mission with the rest of the manor for plotting and conspiracy boarding. They have a moon rock that will probably be of interest to the more scholarly and brainier types!

☆ I get to suffer playing an extrovert who would at least try to network during the ball. If you need someone to help extricate you from an unwanted or awkward situation, a dance partner, or to just accompany your wallflowering, Day can provide.

☆ He'll do any of the jobs, but is most interested in the South and Central ones.

☆ He can be cajoled or dragged into doing any of Wanderer or Tatara's tasks. In particular, he can help with the gardening task because he grew up in a farming town and I kind of hope more people get to learn that.

☆ Day is going to practice making protection charms, and will probably give them to his CR. Alternatively you can volunteer to test them because he has no idea how effective they are.

☆ I won't be making an event top-level because stares at the town meeting, but I can do room threads or closed starters!

Character and info: Urianger Augurelt, Western Country rep. He's an eccentric elf who talks in ye olde english and knows a lot about the art of divination. Apart from the eccentricities though, he tends to look out for others and is easy enough to get along with. He's still a little bad at social situations, but he's come a long way from where he started.

In canon, he uses his divination to also heal, so he's going to be leaning into that with his magic here as well.
Plotting:

- Urianger will be at the ball! It's not his first fancy occasion so he'll know how to hold himself AND he can dance! Please dance with the tall elf man. Alternatively, please get him drunk bc he's very funny when drunk and I want to play that out.

Character and info: Copy/Paste from the last time: Syrlya is his world's general savior, champion, fix-it guy--you name it, it's probably his problem. Warm-hearted, compassionate, and as noble as his people come, Syrlya has boxed himself into the heroic mantle and come out of it fussy, a bit neurotic, and with a massive guilt complex. Very much a hypocrite who just disregards personal safety and limits. He's just recently reached the end of averting the apocalypse (after... nearly accelerating the apocalypse) and, having spent literally his whole life doing that, has been left listless without any place or direction for his future. So he's going to... throw himself right into trying to save this world now that he's here, because that's what he's familiar with!!

Plotting:

- Syrlya is going under a glamor to look human thanks to Wanderer's assistance so nobody screams at him. He'll sound the same and look like Some Human Approximation of Syrlya. He will not be changing his name and I AM putting him in a cute dress. Soon as I find one.

- Besides that, he'd like to hear about how South's mission went and take a look at the moon rock.

JOB BOARD: honestly he will do any of these, or more likely all of these because he doesn't know how to chill. He'll also take Wanderer's advice to try and learn repairing magic. Might help with the garden but know that despite being a plant he does not actually have an edge until he learns plant magic again. But you know, digging holes, simple stuff.

Plans are for a general ball top level, and maybe one or two other things, but otherwise, let's talk jobs and or other miscellaneous scenarios, and I can do custom starters for those!

🐦‍⬛ Did you think he would be gloom and doom and a complainy wallflower for the ball? Nah, he's going to be sauntering around in this (with a few adjustments) like he owns the damn place. It's a prime chance to gather information and get a read of some of the populace that isn't so easily accessible during a routine trip to the markets, time to cruise and schmooze. He might even invite the more uncomfortable or awkward looking wallflowers to dance, just because their squirming will amuse him.

🐦‍⬛ Amusement. He's not entirely sold on [gestures at everything here and at people in general], but he is at current willing to let it all play out. Likewise, he very much doesn't like people as a default setting despite any surface affability or amity, and will prefer to actively keep them at a distance— but you can definitely make yourself fascinating or entertaining to him, and that's likely the easiest and quickest way to make him invest more than he would otherwise. Look, a not-bored Grima is a good thing. Just trust me on that.

🐦‍⬛ On that note, if anyone wants to long term attempt to poke and pry at Grima like he's an unfortunate project of a spicy cat, I'm game to talk something out? His usual persona is perhaps not entirely a mask, but very much a performance, and one that is better bought when he has the dramatic freedom to make his audience loathe his very being by you know, ruining kingdoms, causing the apocalypse, threatening to (and actually) killing everyone they know and love, that sort of thing. In a place where he's more inclined to cooperate rather than raze everything by default due to their circumstances, it gets a little more... incongruous? And other characters are entirely free to attempt to notice and pry at the seams of the mask where they don't quite sit flush.

🐦‍⬛ Jobs wise he is likely to favor Central > Eastern > Southern. He's good at killing things and is less about the rejuvenation. In fact he is probably too good at killing things; he's less combatant and more force of nature. A creature of war, not a duelist. Surely that will not cause friction. Friendly fire, what's that?

🐦‍⬛ He will try not to make it too obvious but you can absolutely bribe him with ✨ rare knowledge ✨. Esoteric and unique books. Fascinating gossip. Spill the tea. Knowledge is power, after all! Nerds is as nerds does.
